Story #13

Notebook: Chowing down for Charlie Company

One of the copy editors complimented me for using my Philly roots to find an eating contest in the middle of a war zone. At least I think it was a compliment...

great pix - it made me want to puke! not quite wing-bowl, but i guess it's close enough:)

Maybe you should suggest a wing bowl (I don't think that a vegetable eating contest would go over too well!)

Somehow 46,000 bevies a week just doesn't sound like enuf in 120+ temps. Keep up the fab articles and twitter. Luv following you a world away! xo!

In response to comments like your copy editor's, I feel complisulted. It's like feeling complimented and insulted, but done way more efficiently. I'm the top ambivalent feeling-processor in my department! And it feels pretty grearrible.

By the way, I'll try to make the Eagles win today. And if Donovan throws a lot of picks or loses his lunch, feel free to say "bobdammit!" 'Cause, hey, I don't mind.

Stay cool out there!

I am very excited about "complisulted" and am going to try to use it in conversation this week. "Grearrible" is too difficult to say out loud, perhaps the professor can re-work that word for us.

So far, Eagles won, Phillies won the first one and Suzanne got married. This was a pretty eventful weekend.
Two hours the Phillies play again.

Wedding highlights (aside from the obvious). Your mom can do a better job with that than I can.
Ceremony took place during the height of the hurricane. Pretty neat from within a very large sunporch.
The mansion is really neat. I got to update some of their paintings with 21st century charm. In one landscape, I added a dog doing number one on a horsey's leg.
They had a really old TV set there. It didn't work, but it didn't matter the Phils were rained out and they don't broadcast in circle anymore.
Good food. I filled my pockets at the buffet.

All of your Aunts and Uncles got their pictures taken. I can't wait for copies so I can Photoshop them.

We are all set for WEDDING BOWLING.

Eagles won, SD and Indy lost but the big news is Brady's hurt. Brady's hurt, Brady's hurt. Boy that feels good to say. lol
No drama in the Eagles game. Very calm and yes, as Mr D would say, "a Baskett catch".
Hey Capt'n there is a game tonight at 10:15 which means you can have a good night's sleep and get up early for it. You gotta love Tuesday Morning Football. I wonder if it would catch on.
