On patrol near Larzab
I finally justified that "reporter/photographer" title they gave me.
On a related note, I'm still trying to find out about the hacker. Our site actually went down for a few hours yesterday because of it, but everything is back up now.

mom, just to clarify this article, the last picture of a mortar being fired was really just a field picture with photoshop'ed in smoke... these pictures are all taken at a studio (remember 'wag the dog') and leo is really at home painting walls with jo and me.
seriously though, leo, these pictures are amazing... all this time we thought i was the artsy one in the family; but after we see all 4 mil pix you've taken, we might have to rethink that. i'm really excited to see more!!!
it's 92.2 degrees at noon in your backyard today, if that makes you feel any better. (of course, i am sitting in your nicely air conditioned family room!)
stay cool!
wow dude these are really great. the poppy image is pretty striking. although it could be the white lady screwing with me.
Quintastic:
Your woman and I read that as "the white lady screwing me", which made just as much sense and was a lot more interesting.
Leo, the pictures are really great! Who knew it was in you? You could have saved us all some serious bucks during our weddings! Ha! Keep 'em coming - it's been the highlight of my day lately! Is that sad for me? Oh well. Here's something that's not sad: I finally got a job!!!! Yeah!!!! 2nd graders, here I come! :)
Be Careful. I think the goat is Al Quaaaaaada.
Great pictures. Did you happen to see any Afghan Mythbusters in the desert?
I've heard that several years ago, a poppy farmer went into the desert and attached a JATO (Jet Assisted Take Off) rocket to his ox cart. What little was left of the cart showed that the oxen had blown out their hooves and the driver's hands were fused to the reins. Can you do a news story on that while you're there?
America really needs to know.
ok the goat joke made me laugh way too hard.
So just like us troops slowly moving through rice fields with trippy psychadelic music became the iconic movie image for vietnamn, us troops walking through a field of poppies to weird psychadelic music will be the key image for afghanastan. nice job.
now i just need a poppy field. get on that.
"Poppies, yes. Poppies will put them to sleeeeep. Sleeeeeeeep. Poppies will make them sleeeeeeeep."
Come on, you know you were waiting for it.
actually, i was. how sad.
lee, your hubby is the best actor ever. I bow at his feet.
wow, I had to read these comments three times to figure out where the goat joke was.
Lee- glad you didn't let us down on the required reference.
Leo -- stay clear of thrax sheep.
Keep up the good work. thnx!
